Overkill?

To what extent are these pregnancy dietary restrictions overkill? I mean, I can live without bleu cheese and sushi, because I was always wary of them anyway. But, no hot dogs? I really miss my Hebrew Nationals, y'all.

That is one recommendation that I haven't ever heard of before. I would miss them too. Either those or the Nathan's hot dogs. ;)

@TQL: Yeah, I was really surprised when a nurse told me I shouldn't eat hot dogs. Btw, Nathan's are my younger brother's favorites! :)

I think the rules are overkill. There is no way these things will hurt your baby. But who am I to judge? I haven't ever been prego or anything. Ask your mama what she restricted. She's the expert :)

@Jessica: Apparently if hot dogs are not cooked to a hot enough temperature, you can get food poisoning. The kind that may not make you have any symptoms, but can kill your baby. (Listeriosis.) Scary! But anyway, I doubt my mom was very strict when it came to what she ate. And we all turned out fine.

Ummmm I LIVED on Hebrew Nationals for the entire second trimester. No joke. I ate them every single day. My baby is fine! : )
