alright, stop. collaborate.

I cook for survival.

My husband cooks for fun.

Thinking of standing in front of the stove makes me tired.

The whole creative process of cooking brings him joy.

(I think his enthusiasm is the reason his cooking always tastes better than mine. My feelings are not hurt by that at all.)

Lately, it has been impressed upon me that I should combine my husband's love of cooking with my love of writing and taking photos of everything. Specifically, I had this thought that I should start a food blog. Surprisingly, my husband agreed almost immediately, and now we have...

This is a thing we're doing just for fun. We're not trying to compete with David Lebovitz or Joy the Baker. Nope.

If you're looking for a food blog written by someone with no formal training in cooking and another someone with no formal training as a food stylist, then check out kendal can cook (!). My goal (for now) is to update it once a week. That will happen as long as I don't create a photo-editing backlog for myself by photographing all of my daughter's funny and amusing and adorable and boring moments. So far so good.

Thank you, Dina! And thanks for the head's up about the commenting. For some reason, the default setting was to only let registered users comment. I have fixed it now!

You got my attention with that post title. :) Reminds me of another era.

I think it's a great idea. I can't wait to read.
